   Today I was reminded of the best description of IT I have ever encountered: My first IT job, my boss explained IT this way:

   “It’s like being a doctor & you’ve a patient sayings:

   “Doctor, it hurts when I stick a fork in my eye.”

   You, being a doctor, use your knowledge & expertise & tell the patient to not stick forks in their eyes.

   They say: “You misunderstand: I want you to make it stop hurting.”

   IT in a nutshell: the unending quest to make it not hurt when they stick a fork in their eye.”
