For the last few years, I've been having the recurring argument that cryptocurrencies should be supported by lefties regardless of their environmental effects or that many are rife with scams. The biggest argument for them was circumventing embargoes and sanctions. Now that Gaza is under siege, I have not seen a single person or group who is confirmed there asking for cryptocurrency for the seemingly obvious reasons of a) fucked internet, b) no power, and c) when water and food are scarce, what good is a bitscoins?

Bitcoin has deflation built right into it so that the early miners / creators can get rich (as long as there are suckers). The whole blockchain thing is a badly designed database that can be used to track money.
