   Chris Kise immediately launches into personal attacks on the AG's lawyers. The judge asks him to apologize. He refuses.

   Kise said that one of the AG's lead counsel should "check the internet."

   "Vladimir Putin has some openings,” Kise said.

   That was the remark that apparently sparked the judge's call for an apology.

     Trump's lawyer Christopher Kise apologizes to the judge for telling AG's counsel to consider a job with Vladimir Putin:

     "When you're right, you're right. [...] I want to apologize on the record."

     Andrew Amer says he accepts the apology.

     Justice Engoron says it would be prudent to let the witnesses in:

     "I don't want a retrial of this case. I don't want to be reversed."

     Kise was once a reputable, high-end lawyer. But like everything Trump touches, Kise's future career is now dead.

     Hope that upfront payment was worth it.

     Justice Engoron described Kise's insult as a McCarthyist throwback to language like:

     “He’s a communist. Send him to Russia. [...] I think it was totally uncalled for, totally incorrect.”

     Kise walked back that statement slightly, complaining that he's been the target of ad hominem and shouldn't have done that.
