- man pages actually feel like manuals, they teach you the subject of more advanced things like firewalls too. On linux it's more hit or miss, they might teach you the program, they might give you an overview of the entire program [typically this is not what I want]
- simple and easy to use, to connect to wifi you just put some easy to understand things inside of a file.
- free compiler out of the box
