@psykose @ptrc I wonder why they use x.y.z then, even stuff that's not exactly semver is usually adjacent/compatible to it, semver being something that was already in long in place before it was named.
I guess for most people x.y.z feels like how a version should look like instead of a way of organising versions, makes me wish there would be "no, you broke API, you have to bump major when using x.y.z or you can't release".

@ptrc a lot of people use x.y.z but it's not actually semver (and doesn't say it anywhere, usually actual semver has a mention to it in some documentation on the repo)
i see a ton of.. game mods, doing like 1.7.0->1.7.1, and it's not even save-compatible
