   Pixelfed.social approaching 100K users 🥳

   It may seem like a huge instance, but with 5K MAU, only 5% of users are active.

   I have a few plans to increase MAU and improve retention!

     @dansup is it only for static images? can i use it as my media repository for memes and gif that i then embed on my posts on mastodon? what bothers me at the moment is that we can't really reuse media we post here. so i'd like very much to use y'all for that.

     (btw, i am one of those dormant accounts because i don't have at the moment a use for my fancy photography and y'all are waaaay too fancy. it's why i've shied away for now. i feel like uploading my reaction GIFs will be frowned upon)

     @dansup I'm a light user, I think it'd be easier for me if I wasn't several years off instagram, trying to find people I click with is hard.

     @dansup reason i didnt use it much after signing up was it was kind of difficult to find people. same issue with masto i guess, but between the two, i just stuck to one platform as I can still follow everyone wherever.

     I wonder if the overlap of masto users with pixelfed is partly to blame for the lower MAU.
