   completely fucking bonkers to see an anime lauded for having "LGBT representation" in which it "doesn't depict a trans woman as any different from anyone else" because one of the one-off antagonists is a trans woman who the main character misgenders and denigrates and whose genitals he repeatedly gropes and attacks. this is the only LGBT representation

     @SuperbSnek @lilli iirc while yusuke said something that did not age well/was transphobic i do not remember him directly misgendering miyuki (he also gropes her which is sus). Im p sure whatever lilli is talking about is probably a newer anime tho.
     
     Will say though the dub to yyh is god tier tho. Also could be worse nuriko from fushigi yugi is introdiced as a girl but "is actually a crossdresser" and they constantly make gay jokes instead of like treating her like a transfemme. Though she does kinda get a glow up before they kill her off (she gets reincarnated tho)

     @lilli @SuperbSnek yeah its one of my favorite anime but its literally that one episode. It was both out of left field and kinda fucked up. I just thought you had to be talking about something a bit newer. Also it is in the sub but i watched it dubbed

     @Mondobizarrro @SuperbSnek i am in fact talking abt yyh! which im watching bc it's a friend's fave. and i am enjoying it but the yusuke transmisogynt moment went beyond just saying something and just groping: yusuke does directly misgender her multiple times in very derisive terms, and more than that, almost exclusively (i.e. all but one hit) attacks her breasts and genitals in the fight. he also in all versions but the dub (i checked the sub and the french sub and dub, which all agree, so i think it's like this in japanese) says he would have gone easier on her if she was a real girl—ofc he doesnt attack her like he attacks any man either, bc he wouldn't exclusively attack the genitals of any male fighter
