     I'm gonna give a guess that Bibi considers the Israeli hostages to be convenient "liberal" sacrifices to "Hamas" in order to reinforce the narrative to his Hard Right/ZioNazi followers that the only solution is to totally wipe Palestinians out of "Greater Israel" (i.e., the Occupied Territories) so that they can be rebuilt as Jewish/Zionist only enclaves with those remaining Palestinians either exiled to Egypt or kept as slaves/fodder.

     Oh, Bibi's been well known as a racist pig and colonizer. In addition to his stint as UN ambassador to Israel, he was also deeply involved with the Reagan-era neoconservative think tank Center for Strategic and International Studies; for whom he wrote a tome called "Terrorism: How The West Can Win" in which he laid out his ZioNazi strategy of welding Zionism with anticommunism, fundamentalist Christianity, and expansionism of Israel over the Middle East as the new Rhodesia.

     It's quite clear now that many of the dead at Kibbutz Be'eri and the music festival were directly caused by Israeli attack of the hostage situation.

     These kibbutzim were dubiously located, obviously, but politically aligned away from ethnonationalism and populated with liberal israelis if not peace advocates. It doesn't surprise that the IDF would want to make sure all those who could be rescued but would be scathing about the israeli govt would be found postmortem.
