At the end of the day, COVID-19 made people realize:

    - They could work from home and that most offices are shitty places.

    - Their job was really shitty.

    - Governments could finance pretty much anything they wanted.

    - Global warming could be stopped.

    - The really important jobs were the ones that are the worst paid (nurses, for instance).

    - Most governments are run by idiots, who are in the pocket of the wealthiest.

🤣🤣 That last item. Imagine this particular country, during the 2020 and 2021 lockdowns, the ones heading the "task force" are 9 out of 10 from the Army and National Police. The remaining sit, the National health, was practically there just to support them, so their draconic decisions are justified.

They even started a propaganda that the people are disobedient. Then Google, a UK group, and I think even Apple, released a study of their location tracking of mobile gadgets and has proven the government claims 100% wrong that the people are disobedient.

This government did not stop the propaganda until 4 months after the figures were released and they were proven wrong. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Yep, that happened. Believe it or not, it was not in China, it was from a "democratic" country.

You may be right 🤷♂️ … I hope you’re wrong; bc it’s people who quietly know truths, even ones they can’t acknowledge yet, that are people who will be able to significantly and fairly quickly shift their lives / behaviours once the incentives change.
I know that even in ‘liberal’ Edmonton, the social pressure of Alberta culture is strongly against letting people know you have doubts about the status quo.

@ParadeGrotesque @dialect I certainly know bunches of people who learned those things. I don’t think most people learned much of anything, though.

What people might know in their hearts, what they know but won’t admit to themselves, mean nothing if the incentives and coercive systems don’t change.

@DavidM_yeg @ParadeGrotesque @dialect I don’t think most people are in the “know in their hearts, won’t admit to themselves” place, though. I certainly know bunches of those too (some of them from here), but they too are the minority.
