   @LinuxLounge I'd just like to interject for a moment.
   
   The software that sets the inputs for the gamepad is udev (although Linux provides the usb stack), so the support is under systemd/Linux rather.

     I didn’t know this but Steam Controllers are actually now fully supported under Linux without any third party software, that means no Steam! The controller will automatically switch to being a gamepad when you launch a game
