     In the 14th century France had a very unpopular salt tax called the Gabelle. During the French Revolution it was abolished, but quickly reinstated once the new government ran out of money.

     The parallels with history are quite close, the #Unity engine is viewed by many as a necessity for #gamedev, like salt, and they are out of money, like France.
