  Project status: completed. Turns out PipeWire can be made to work on top of an existing ALSA config; saves me the trouble of setting up multi-user PipeWire and convincing everything to use it.

  My thanks go out to Gentoo for making this work without systemd and the Arch Wiki for the ALSA configuration bits. :blobcatheart:
