     @DrRyanSkelton Midway through development of this game all the developers went AWOL and left the artist, WOMI, to finish the entire thing by himself. I think the last few levels are a pretty good glimpse into his mindset at the time.

     That would explain a lot about the back half of RKSF and probably the atrocious swimming too. Still, I rate it well above average in MM game terms but I think part of that is it keeps one of RKS's finest qualities: Every stage ends PRECISELY when the bullshit reaches the peak of what you should tolerate.
