I think I might have posted about the ridiculous “AI smoothie” shop that opened a month or so ago. I noticed shortly after they opened a sign went up that said “be back in one hour”, and the shop never opened again.
This article sums it up. I particularly like how they called out how clear it was that all of their “happy customer” photos are all obviously AI generated.
This is what hype looks like.

@gabek Huh. I thought about stopping by there while on an office visit. Not to buy a smoothie. Just to gawk at it.

@roadriverrail I went out of morbid curiosity. It was just a smoothie place with an app to order the smoothie. The only “AI” I noticed was it took all the ingredients you selected and gave you a name for the drink. Like “Blueberry banana blast” or whatever. In conversation permalink
