     That's a problem on here unfortunately :blobsad:

     I'd suggest putting a space in and adding a note afterwards telling people to remove the space after the @.

     Alternatively you can ignore the suggestions and hope that the @ doesn't match an actual user's account in which case it won't resolve into a tag. However, sooner or later you may match, so a space is safer.

     p.s. I'll try to do a post later about whether there are other Fedi platforms where discussion of programming terms are easier.
