   After nearly 7 months of fieldwork in Bougainville (Papua New Guinea), I'm ready to embark on leg 1 of my #NoFly journey to Germany. Travelling by🚢,🚅,&🚌over 27,000km, I'll emit ~535kg of CO2, 10 times less than✈️. This decision cost me my job, but I still think it was the right thing to do. 1/🧵

     @gianluca_grimalda Since you no longer have a job (sorry about that), you might as well take your time and enjoy the journey. Take your time, connect with locals, this could be an opportunity to tell climate-related stories. Whether that's about impact on communities, or the (lack of) sustainable transport options, or climate adaption solutions already in practice, or community resilience programs, or ...
