I know I don't post here much anymore...
I'm working on a blog post on knowledge management systems though.
On that topic... it would be really nice if files on a filesystem had some kind of stable ID that worked separately than filename.

  @emacsen Gotcha, and I suppose creating your own file hierarchy and link()ing is also a no-go?

    @hnygd@mastodon.africa I don't think you can easily reference an inode -> filename mapping from regular tools. More importantly, an inode is not meant to be stable, and if the file is moved, or renamed, it may have a different inode.
