USB (OLD): You have various cables. Some of them have a blue color inside the plug. The ones that are blue inside the plug work better.
USB (C): You have various cables. Plug one in for a fun surprise!

i have learned that the trick is to Simply not own any devices
@gutmunchies No devices only cables
@mcc @gutmunchies until the day you get a cable that's analog P2 in one end and USB in the other, meaning that the cable is secretly a device
@mcc my keyboard came with a purple usb A to C cable, so I give it USB 3 as a treat sometimes.
@mcc Waddaya mean theres different kinds of USB-C connectors?
@horqua @mcc more that the same connector can carry a range of electrical and data capabilities. so you pull the cable from the drawer and don’t know how fast it will charge or transfer data until you try it out.
@jellycrystals It means USB 3.0
@mcc The exception that keeps biting me is that USB (OLD) that is type B, if it's blue inside it can't plug in to a socket that isn't blue inside. They are physically incompatible.
@mcc OMG.... The blue bit means better??
@mcc you were the chosen one! It was said you would destroy profits, not increase them! You were to bring balance to the ports, not leave us in darkness!
@mcc usb old. You don’t fit. You don’t fit. Go get yourself yet another dongle… or rebuy all you old devices and wonder if there with be a usb-d standard. Wonder “universal” really meant there being as many standards as there are stars in the firmament 😂
