   @rq Why would Linux be more than a kernel exactly?
   
   You just need to download the source version of GNU Linux-libre, run `make menuconfig` and disable that stuff.

     It has come to my attention that there's X.509 in the Linux kernel.
     
     My disappointment is immeasurable and my day has been ruined.
