     @Jonius @aral The right to self-defense does not include the right to commit war crimes. What’s so hard to understand? It’s black and white in int’l law: “They started it!” Irrelevant. “They’re also committing war crimes!” Irrelevant. “What else are we supposed to do?” Irrelevant.

     @aral this is a logical fallacy. Israels Leaders can be wrong about a lot of things and still be right with their criticism. Compare politicians from turkey or Iran complaining about racism in international organizations

     @aberl The logic is sound if you read what I wrote properly instead of creating a straw man to rail against. I didn’t say “Israel’s leaders” (you don’t need the capital “L”, we already understand your reverence) “were wrong about a lot of things” so they are wrong about this also. I said Israel is telling everyone who criticises them about this one thing that they’re in the wrong while Israel is in the right and so there’s a high chance that it’s Israel that’s in the wrong.

     @avolkov I see, Alex. I can understand how it is problematic for Israel when you see the killing of Israeli civilians as unacceptable but you also see the killing of Palestinian civilians as unacceptable.

     I guess some of us are just incapable bringing ourselves to see a whole people as “human animals” who should be culled en masse for the greater good.

     Must be a moral failing on our part, clearly.

     @aral Every public figure or organization that had a terrible stance on Ukraine at the beginning of the war also seems to have a poor position on Israel. There appears to be a clear pattern of behavior.

     This includes the President of Ireland, which is quite strange, and he should really know better, but it is what it is.
