No need to put someone down for making something that you personally wouldn't use.

Flux (flux@social.fluxfox.dev)'s status on Saturday, 28-Oct-2023 12:17:43 JST Flux @lina @volpeon the reason a lot of people stick with Discord right now, there aren't really technical, that works consistently well and can handle large groups. It's not the best, but it works.
If you told someone to use IRC, then you also have to give a lot of warnings of things that work as they expect, such having to continuously connect unless using a relay to receive messages.
For many people, that can be a put off if the thing they already use gets them what they want.
