Can't believe how many parents I see who give their kids a tablet and limited supervision. Sure they might have parental controls, but you're not setting them up to be a regular functional human being if they have to have a tablet to get through any short period of in inconvenience.

Yes I agree but to be fair 95% of most people's day to day interactions happen to be on these kind of devices.

@tyler Oh for sure. But for right now, they need to be human and just experience life. I have a hunch that too much "screen time" causes 'bad wiring' in the brain. It's known to cause growth in the frontal cortex, and there's only so much room in the skull, so you'll potentially have underdevelopment in other areas. Prefrontal cortex is the real important one for executive function, mind you. FWIW Steve Jobs famously wouldn't allow his children to have an iPad.

One of my kids was shown a commercial for a horror movie by some unsupervised kid close to their age. We barely watch TV and wouldn't ever let them see something like that when they're too young to ride a bike. It caused nightmares for weeks. I hate the irresponsible garbage. If you want to ruin your kid that's your business, but, when you let them affect mine, you deserve a boot in your ass.
