LadyMontMy mother raised 3 kids with strong breed dogs in the house and never had a problem whatsoever. The only bad thing that happened was that one time I was playing with the Rottie and one of her K9s bounced against my cheek, breaking the skin, during play. The dog instantly stopped playing with me as well. Story after story after story, kids getting bitten to death, or torn up by dogs, not even all of them strong breeds either. And there's definitely been an uptick with bitting incidents as well. Here in the Netherlands as well. It's maddening the amount of out of control dogs I encounter on the daily.
Edit: I guess I should also mention that the Rottie once did kind of bite one of my brother's. She by no means broke skin or whatever. We were play fighting, it escalated, I screamed and ended up crying, my brother didn't let go. Dog bit him in the ass, quickly but firmly. It startled him, he yelped and let go of me, and then we all laughed about it.
