I know I should probably spin up a cloud server but I'm always terrified that I'll misconfigure it and AWS will rip through my credit card.

A few months ago I accidentally racked up over £1,000 in a month, while usually I pay less than £100, and after I explained my stupidity, they waived the extra cost. Probably won't be able to get away with it twice though 😂.
Also, as I realised a little late, budget alerts are your friend to stop this from happening in the first place… -

Linux then terminated the process with extreme prejudice. Which is fair.
I might need to find a more efficient way to reproject very large GeoTIFF files.
