Similar story here, I had a couple of Ubiquiti APs but went looking for something else. I've heard good things about tplink. Right now I have just one; a standalone controller and more APs still to come.

feld (feld@bikeshed.party)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Oct-2023 06:34:04 JST feld @emaste @simonlbn I have some TP-Links in the office that seem fine. Not using a controller, you can just use the app or web interface and manage them directly easy enough. Really lacking on radio settings though compared to Ubiquiti. -

S Nielsen (simonlbn@infosec.exchange)'s status on Wednesday, 25-Oct-2023 06:34:09 JST S Nielsen I soon need to build new home wifi. Do people have suggestions for which access points to get?
I need :
- "Pure" access point with no built in firewall, NAT etc. (I have that separately)
- Support for at least 3 separate SSIDs on different VLANs,
- Functioning roaming between different access points, as I expect to need 2-3 to properly cover house.
- It's not a problem needing wired connection between APs.
- Reliability more important than max speed.I have Ubiquiti now which works, but I'm not too keen on having to have seperate controller, the management UI, nor the company in general, so would prefer somebody else if that exist.
Any suggestions/pointers appreciated, even if you haven't tried them yourself.
