   @chayleaf 128GB is not enough for my music collection in FLAC, though I suppose transcoded to placebo bitrate opus or AAC it would only take 2/3 of it

     I understand the appeal of SD cards in my first phone which had a whopping 6MB of internal storage, but now phones with 128GB+ storage cost like $150. I've never owned an SD card larger than 16GB, plus USB OTG exists now, so I'm not particularly bothered by it.

     it occurs to me that the average smartphone probably has more than 16GB of storage built-in nowadays
     
     on the other hand, the average smartphone probably doesn't have a µSD card slot any more, so I'm not sure it's really an improvement
