   I'm still shocked and somewhat in disbelief at the way I had been treated, after giving it my all and asking for extremely little in return.
   
   Remember, there is no loyalty in work. don't care if you work at a hospice for orphan children; your employers, your employees, your coworkers, they are not and never will be your friend. They aren't at work for you (or in this scenario the dying orphan children), they are at work for themselves.
   
   You should be, too.

     @ItsSkyDragonz The TL;DR -
     For vet tech appreciation week, I got some fast food from management along with a demotion and pay cut.
     
     The coworker that was on-the-job trained to tech has taken my head tech role and my pay cut basically went to his raise. Said tech couldn't be licensed because their drug charges would need to be expunged. ..
     
     I was not given a reason for the decision to promote the uneducated tech and demote the licensed one.
