   TIL Jerusalem is based on the root "S-L-M", which in Arabic is known as "Salam", and in Hebrew "Shalom". both of which mean "Peace". And this city of "Peace" is the most fought over location on earth. God is not without a sense of irony.

     @ned maybe the Jeru part denotes lack of so it's the place of the lack of peace.
