Who would enjoy a Mastodon account dedicated to promoting and addressing issues confronting,what I've come to call, #RedStateInsurgents ?
You know, all those brave souls who identify on the leftist spectrum, but live in red states and refuse to cede ground.
I think we all have things to talk about that blue state'ers may be able to empathize with, but can never to sympathize with.

Speaking from my own personal experience of working with Democrats here in the state of Louisiana, calling US Democrats even slightly liberal would be quite charitable. The voter base may be slightly liberal; the party establishment, though, is pretty damn conservative.
It's only in comparison to the over-the-cliff right-wing Republicans that Democrats seem liberal in comparison.
Either way, I am personally well Left of all of them. So be it.

Just for the record, for most of the world the US Democrats are mostly center and a bit of Left. The US does not really have a leftist party. (speaking from the point of view of someone who is living in the EU).
