   @sandy know what would help prevent this being an issue? If Mastodon checked your social graph against the block list of the new instance before you migrate.

     Of course it is always nice to see more people join tooters but if they are migrating here to avoid losing mastodon.art connections I will feel so bad they picked tooters instead of another instance :blobcatsadreach:

     🚨We are seeing people migrating from tech.lgbt to tooters.org today.

     The timing makes me think it is happening today because mastodon.art is about to stupidly defederate from tech.lgbt.

     Migrating to tooters will not keep you from losing people because we already defederated mastodon.art a month ago when the admin started a disinformation campaign to falsely accuse someone of being an antisemite.

     We don’t want to see anyone accidentally break their connections! :tooters: :wolfheart: :sandra:
