     @kaia In the mid 2000s there were some very very small eee pcs with 2GB of ram with some very low power intel cpus, the config was so low that it was also the fist time I had seen a pc sold with ubuntu by default.      @michcia @kaia Yep, we go by boardnames because "HP Chromebook 14a" has the same name for like 7 different platforms.
     
     If you say "BOBBA" for instance, I instantly recognize that's GLK (GeminiLake) platform with DA7219/MAX98357A audio stack and ELAN touchscreen.
     
     That's why. If you see stuff like "KRANE", "HANA", those are boardnames for this specific device :)

     @michcia @kaia Yeah, Windows drivers that CoolStar writes are paid (attempt to stop re-sellers from leeching off of the project).
     
     If you're using Linux, everything will work as long as you stick with something like Arch or Fedora because we're often pushing updates.
     Linux support on ChromeOS devices brought by @weirdtreething and myself :)

     @kaia i was once pointed to this huge list https://chrultrabook.github.io/docs/docs/supported-devices.html of what has drivers and what has drivers paywalled on someone's patreon (or maybe those were just windows drivers not linux ones i can't remember right now)

     @mangeurdenuage @kaia I think I stil have my old Asus eee 1015t floating around but it no longer has ram in the machine. It did have 2GB and I ran it with Ubuntu 10.04LTS for awhile and then upgraded it to lubuntu 16.04lts after that the hardware was too weak to continue use for much of anything. I really did like the form factor though it was super portable even if the keyboard was kinda cumbersome.
