   @klardotsh there's something about hand-writing HTML, like ... as soon as you have two pages that need the same header, or a shared sidebar, you have to either sacrifice DRY or sacrifice "I'm editing the files exactly as they are going to be sent" which is legitimately an annoying tradeoff

   I mean, I do it anyway, because m4 is a *very* small abstraction to place on top of it, but I think I get why it puts people off?

     @klardotsh I guess this is why apache has server-side includes but I've never actually used them because I do like having the whole HTML file on disk

     @khm @klardotsh I mean, "easy to edit correctly" is one thing but "hard to accidentally edit incorrectly" is much more important

     @technomancy @klardotsh DRY was invented by people whose text editors suck. With sam, updating the headers in a hundred html files is as easy as updating the headers in one.
