I wear masks everywhere. It goes without saying that this should be the default in public spaces. And then I go by looking at the size and the numbers of the gathering, ventilation and how close everyone is going to be even in private gatherings. Last week I went to a birthday party wearing a KN95 mask.
The person who gave me a warm welcome immediately asked me to remove it. Another friend came to my rescue saying, 'no, he is wearing it everywhere. he will continue to wear it here too.'
On Friday I was at the opening ceremony of an exhibition where the artist hugged me and asked 'why are you hiding your face'? I have seen people going this 'extra mile' to hug those who are masked, just to create an opening to make a comment on the mask itself. So the masked person would be already uncomfortable when they hear the remarks. I told him that I want to avoid getting COVID and LongCovid; and that I want to protect my elderly parents too. I remained masked till the very end of the event.

@lohang Forcefully removing a piece of clothing is assault or bordering on assault! It's a surreal and scary violation of private space and I'm sorry it happened to you.

The nastiest mask-wearing experience I've had so far was back in February when someone tried to physically intervene and tear away the mask.
After a public show at Namel-Malini Punchi Theatre, a spectator (who is also a well-known theatreperson) tried to grab and tear away my face mask. When it didn't come off she pulled it down exposing my face, with her fingers touching my nose and lips.
She then said forcefully: “What is this, take it off will you!? The government has put an end to it. Why are you still clinging on to this?”
