   Dear Mastodonians:

   I can’t seem to find out whether there are ways to:
   • forbid #replies to one’s posts (or particular posts)?
   • #remove particular replies from one’s posts?

   Blocking or muting individuals doesn’t remove their unwanted or inaccurate replies. Currently the only remedy I’ve found is to delete my whole post.

     You can't forbid replies, though this is a very popular requested feature. (People comfortable with using github can vote for it by giving a thumbs up at https://github.com/mastodon/mastodon/issues/8565)

     You can mute and block people, but to remove the reply itself you may need to ask for help from your server admin. However, they will generally only intervene if the reply is breaking the server's rules.

     Another option is to use followers-only visibility for a post, which means only your followers can reply but also means only followers will see the post.

     @feditips @cmorris yes but do you mean fedi admin blocking it or individuals? if it's individuals it wouldn't be that effective overall.

     @feditips. Thanks for all you are doing. I hope “MAS-37 Restrict who can reply to a post” can be given more priority as a safety issue (possibly gender-related, but I have no proof). I’m starting to see the merits of precluding quote tweets. I see the latter is in the works, but I hope users will be able to preclude quote tweets. On balance, I’ve enjoyed my experience on Mastodon, however its increasing popularity means increasing gender-based risks & risks for racialized persons.

     As far as I know, the quote function would be opt-in, so only people who actively ask for their posts to be quoted would be quotable.
