     3. the mass-surveillance State poses an existential threat to democracy, because even in a democracy bad people can be elected who could use such unprecedented Orwellian control to crush any opposition.

     2. the mass-surveillance State didn't exist before #NSA established it using the 9/11 as a pretext and exploiting the digital age
     it's like the nuclear age, which didn't exist before the allies built the first atomic bomb, terrified that Hitler could develop it first

     4. as a journalist who worked on the #Snowden files and published ALL the #Snowden files she got access to, I have always asked myself whether I have done all I could to alert the public about this threat
