@ahmad Yeah I'm aware the emoji situation sucks. it's not just the bad UI, look at that massive block in the lower-right corner. The biggest data chunk in the whole app is a list of every single emoji by name, slowing the down the initial loading time.
I must say that the only thing that can be considered bad about soapbox is the emoji box. If that's fixed or changed, it'll be perfect.
After that, I'll start nagging about the lack of effects. I've used misskey for few days and I must say the amount of eye candy stuff in the design are astronomical!
It's very pleasant to use it because of the effects, animations, and transformation effects they have.
@PunishedD@Dave55811@ahmad I know guys, it sucks. However you should look at it like this: when I added it, it didn't previously exist as a feature. I'll get around to it at some point, or hopefully someone else will use the power of FOSS to submit a patch.
@Dave55811@alex@ahmad If you’re submitting a bug report, the same problem happens at the top of the screen. I assume it has something to do with the popup being modal (so the rest of the window doesn’t scroll).
@alex@ahmad Personally, my biggest gripe with the emoji system on Poa.st is that the little window that pops up when you select the Emoji icon can't be moved, in case you're unable to scroll down to see what's available on-screen. I've enclosed an example.....or two.
As for how emojis are taking up a huge chunk of data, well, I guess that's a valid concern, but I've got my own complaints. I bet they're not unique, either.
