    A border map of #ArthdalChronicles I did after Season 01 ended.

    * Red: Arthdal Country
    * Green: Ago Union
    * Blue: Momo Tribe
    * Purple: former territories of Neanthals

    Note: based on #ArthdalChronicles #아스달연대기 Season 1 (ep 1–18)

    * Unknown: original land of the Hae Tribe (far west of Arthdal, not shown in map)

      @bougiewonderland Just based on what were revealed and the clues. And I usually take notes when the story is very interesting (like time travel or fantasy).

      Then I found a map and tried to translate and more or less guess how the borders would look.

      It's not exact, but gives some overview.

      @bougiewonderland

      #1: Yep. I think, at least in S01, most outside of Arthdal only cared about themselves. Like the Momo tribe, they basically care about their own territory only because they want to avoid having to owe someone.

      #2: Yeah!

      #3: Sadly, it wasn't marked. At least if my translations of it the first time were correct.

      #4: A mystery. Maybe in S02 they'll reveal something.

      Like the Hae tribe, supposedly they came from the far West.

      I'm thinking the continent is the ancient land of what would later be called the Korean peninsula, before it became like it is now.

      The west would then be ancient China. Since the Hae tribe is from the West, and they came through ships, and largely indistinguishable from the natives,

      That would make the NE portion somewhere in modern Russia?

      The Great Black Cliff is probably some ancient version of the DMZ. So Arthdal is probably modern Pyongyang (which was the capital of Korea multiple times before the split).

      At least that's how I look at it. Since it was in the Bronze Age, and in S02 they're about to enter the Iron Age.

      Then a few thousand years later, the first recorded history of Korea begins.

      @youronlyone a few things strike me

      —why were the Iark tribes so isolated? There’s the cliff on one side sure but the Momo and Ago aren’t far

      —Eunseom et al. did a heck of a detour after Doldambul, going to the Hasi Mountain before reaching Jobinol! Staying in the valley, going downstream, would have been much easier. On the other hand they were on the run so throwing off the others is smart!

      —where is the great waterfall?

      —what is out there, at the Northeast? it’s never so much as mentioned

      @bougiewonderland Exactly! When there's an establish world, it makes the bigger picture very exciting.

      Not to mention, we rarely find fantasy worlds from Asia in live-action format. It's usually novels. Novels are great, very expansive and descriptive, but there are times when you also just want to watch and see how the writers actually envisioned their fantasy world. ^_^

      @youronlyone I just find it all fascinating. Maybe it’s because I can actually see it but it makes everything so much more interesting. I want all the lore!

      @bougiewonderland Yep! There's more immersion. It's like living in the same world.

      It makes it more real and you appreciate the decisions and actions of the characters more. It's like you also have an investment in why they do this and that because of the lore and you understand their world.

      How do you say it, It's more 3-dimensional? As compared to just being 2-dimensional?

      @youronlyone Precisely! I mean, watching the show, knowing specifically where everything is doesn’t really matter, so you don’t really question it when you’re not readily provided with the info. We know that the Haes are from out West and that’s pretty much it.

      But once you have a visual representation? It opens a whole new area to be curious about. It makes you think about certain things in a different light (such as the Doldambul-Hasi Mountain-Jobinol trek). I love It!
