#1: Yep. I think, at least in S01, most outside of Arthdal only cared about themselves. Like the Momo tribe, they basically care about their own territory only because they want to avoid having to owe someone.
#2: Yeah!
#3: Sadly, it wasn't marked. At least if my translations of it the first time were correct.
#4: A mystery. Maybe in S02 they'll reveal something.
Like the Hae tribe, supposedly they came from the far West.
I'm thinking the continent is the ancient land of what would later be called the Korean peninsula, before it became like it is now.
The west would then be ancient China. Since the Hae tribe is from the West, and they came through ships, and largely indistinguishable from the natives,
That would make the NE portion somewhere in modern Russia?
The Great Black Cliff is probably some ancient version of the DMZ. So Arthdal is probably modern Pyongyang (which was the capital of Korea multiple times before the split).
At least that's how I look at it. Since it was in the Bronze Age, and in S02 they're about to enter the Iron Age.
Then a few thousand years later, the first recorded history of Korea begins.
