   Article about AI image generation technology:"Guardrails are important for this type of tech, which has the potential to generate not just offensive images, but also defamatory, misleading, or even illegal material."Wholly disagree with this take. There is no reason that computer technology or software should come with "guardrails". It's so bizarre seeing how addicted to nanny-policies Anglos are and how obsessive they get regarding people's thoughts or behaviors (or, in this case, how people want to use a software or technology).

     @adiz @moffintosh cat's out of the bag anyway, I was experimenting with chatgpt and it kept cockblocking me, so I switched to a selfhosted AI running directly on my macbook pro without any restrictions at all. what are they gonna do, install "guardrails" in every computer GPU?

     @moffintosh@berserker.town Yeah, exactly. When people argue for restrictive, policing policies (like "guardrails"), the question ought to be "who gets to install these 'guardrails' and by what standard are they to enforce?" This journo wants restrictions placed on this technology for their own ulterior motivations, but would probably seethe at the idea of the same restrictions being imposed to block out the generation of content he/she appreciates, enjoys, desires, or otherwise believes in. They make mention of "illegal" content---but, they'd probably write a long diatribe against Microsoft, or others, for example, banning the generation of LGBTQ+ content to adhere to laws within Saudi Arabia or Pakistan something.
