   I’m going to state again categorically: I am an idiot.
   I was a teacher for 20+ years, a member of the union🤢 and all and I repeat ALL of my personal education is in either music or education.

     @MartinDeLaToot @SirSpencer educating children is a noble endeavour. Unfortunately this makes some people who are in the job feel like it means they're somehow innately noble themselves, and therefore their political desires must be morally superior, no matter how they came by them.

     The most common thing from education perpetrators that has always irritated the shit out of me:

     If you complain about specific ways the education system sucks many will just blow you off with this "well I was in education and that's how we do it you wouldn't know how or why you don't understand because you're not in education"

     The ivory tower bullshit from a hole in the ground it's like the emperor wears no clothes

     @Sophistifunk @SirSpencer it happens a lot. Politics and education don’t mix. I got into a lot of trouble for mentioning that at a staff meeting when I was an AD.

     @Sophistifunk @SirSpencer what you’re describing is the exact way we’re taught to NOT talk about education. That’s some serious backward thinking right there.
     I get the you’re not in education, but it drops with sanctimony. I HATE it when people go that route. Even though I’ve probably done it.
