you have a health issue. or a mental health issue. you should, we are told, "ask for help". Now there are people who are bad at asking for help, who have people around them, friends and family and access to professionals, and will carry on struggling without asking. Don't do that.
But what happens if you ask for help and the answer is no. If there is no-one to ask. The assumption is that your physical or mental illness is fixable. Guess what - not everything is. And many things that can be fixed, or at least eased, require outside help - support or treatment - that is NOT AVAILABLE. money. isolation. collapse of state systems. abuse.
You who are making this wee video with your 'here's what helped me' well that's nice you got better so quickly. That's nice you had the means around you to rest. That's nice what you had wasn't so serious that recovery was likely, rapid, and happened.
BUT IT'S NOT LIKE THAT FOR EVERYONE.
assuming it is, is ableist. and classist. and the rest.
