OK....since I am now back home and rested a bit, because it has been a long-ass day, here's an update on my doctor's appointment results and my disability status as of right now.
Doc noted that while I was doing well, especially with the hypertension being under control, I was still not quite well enough to return to active work; so she promised full cooperation & support for me in retaining my disability benefits.

She even went ahead and accepted my paperwork applying for discharging my student loan debt due permanent disability. That cost me an extra $40, but because of your kindness and generosity in donating, I was able to pay it out of pocket. Once she fills it out, I can retrieve it and scan/fax it over to Dept. of Ed. so they can make a decision on "forgiving" my $31K debt. Crossing my fingers on that.

In the meantime, while that is going on, I am also applying to get in the IDR plan for reducing the rate of repaying my student loan. Right now I am in administration forbearance, meaning they aren't collecting any payments pending my IDR and permanent disability applications. Were both rejected, I would have to repay at the rate of $311 per month. OUCH!!

In addition to all that, I am also applying for Medicaid to replace COBRA for my medical benefits after the end of the year. I originally applied for the ACA medical exchanges, and they transferred me and my application over to my state's Medicaid office. That is now pending. If approved, I would be off of COBRA after December 31, which would be a great burden offloaded from me.

What that would mean is that I would only have to beg.....errrrrrrrrrrr, solicit for funds to pay that COBRA premium for two more months (November and December) and then I would be off there and on to Medicaid. A load off my chest, and I am sure off yours too. (At least after these next two months.)

As far as what that means for my fundraising efforts these next 3 months:
I won't be needing much in the way of aid up until the end of this month when the November COBRA premium comes due; save for the usual minor bills & purchasing food. So, I will close out the current fundraiser on Monday, with the goal of $227 to reach the final goal of $1,200. The link here if you are interested in helping me close this out:
