   Found an illustrated edition of Robinson Crusoe published in 1863 at a local charity store in England and I can still read and experience it as intended by the typesetter and illustrator 160 years later*.

   Will you be able to say the same thing of the things we publish on the web today?

   * As intended aesthetically, that is, but otherwise through the critical lens of reading a book steeped in 18th century slavery and imperialism.

     @aral We should normalise publicly accessible revision history for web sites. I know we have the Wayback Machine (for now), but it'd be cool if most sites had a version history link as standard.

     Probably too late to get that sort of thinking into the Internet Zeitgeist.
