   @DrewNaylor I'm somewhat in between, because I like what GPL tries to achive, but I don't like copyright in general, so why not try to exit it using CC-0 license or something like that. So I would like to release everything as Public Domain tbh even tho companies can use my code for making profits (but my code is useless anyway).

   The sad part is that gpl is not really saving your code from using by companies, so it is sad to conclude that defending user freedoms by copyright works not so well.

     the goal of the gpl is for users of the software to have the essential freedoms, that they deserve, whether they are natural people, companies, governments, non-governmental organizations, ...

     @lxo I agree and share GPL values, but I just doubt the thought that it is a good idea to fight copyright with power of copyright in general. After some years of learning free software I kinda started to like the idea, that if you want to abolish copyright you don't need to be part of it, that's why I've started considering using CC-0 or moving software to public domain. I don't develop my own software for now, but if I would do it, I would consider between gpl and cc-0.
