  Any recommendations of Mastodon instances for a person (and profile!) like yours truly? Of course, as an explicitly anarchist instance, users of this server like myself accept that there will be good people making bad mistakes. I'm aware there was the breach issue, and also the disconnect with Firefish (for whatever reason), but this makes me concerned for Kolektiva: https://blackqueer.life/@tillshadeisgone/111144277933654132

    Admin Announcement: Effective immediately, we have applied a limit to kolektiva.social. In two weeks (October 12th) we will be upgrading the limit to a suspend. When we originally began importing instances from the unified tier 2 blocklist, kolektiva was slated to be suspended. However, due to the large number of follow relationships, we did not defederate. However, over time it has become clear that our moderation styles are just not compatible, as BQL requires a much stricter amount of proactive moderation to keep our users safe while kolektiva is by their own admission more permissive. Additionally, it's more than once that my users have brought me posts that were antiblack. So we need to move forward. To those on kolektiva with follow relationships with us: feel free to follow from an alt if you wish.

  @rybson I used to have an account on there, several years ago, and people grew weary of my numerous accounts on different servers haha, so eventually I settled on Kolektiva, who also run the Peertube server I'm compiling my old media activism archives on. But I've always absolutely loved Todon's code of conduct omg!

  @skuppr I actually always found a lot of their rules were in many ways more thorough and impressive than Kolektiva's but you're right, unless there is an improvement on what we're using now, there's no point.

  @skuppr I realised that never answered your question haha, I presume .nl was set up as a Netherlands-specific server, and .eu is broader. I just checked and blackqueer.life restricted kolektiva but not todon, which may be a good sign?

  @MediaActivist @skuppr This is so awful. Will be moving servers too. Todon does look promising but definitely makes sense to do more research before moving, will have a look too as want to move asap.
