If the Dems want to replace Biden, they should pick Whitmer, because her platform has legs and it's really no more complicated than "liberals please be the people you pretend you are on subjects of reproductive rights, anti-racism, healthcare, and LGBTQ rights."
If they don't want to replace Biden, they should just steal Whitmer's entire platform.
Michigan might not go Red for another 20 years again; the model works. Not that ANY of you lanyards care.

(Her platform and Biden's platform are more or less identical on labor rights - which is, "not good enough" but also "a significant improvement in US politics from the past 35 years."

Turns out that when they allow people actual freedom, instead of telling them, "You're free! To be cishet, white, rich, male and dynastic, if you can", people actually appreciate it.
If the Democrats had any spine at all they'd run on a platform of personal freedom and autonomy with a side of healthcare, student debt relief, standard of living assistance, and labour restrictions. You know, those things a government can do to actually benefit people, instead of funneling more money into the overloaded pockets of every capitalist shitstain under our benighted sun and a military complex so overwrought that a rococo blacksmith would have a case of the vapours.
But that would be unpopular amongst, shall we say, certain crowds who will never vote Dem in the first place...
