We keep hearing leaders talking about preventing the next pandemic. But I will only believe that policymakers are serious about preventing the next pandemic when they show that they are taking active steps to stop the current ongoing pandemic. #CovidIsNotOver

Nazo (nazokiyoubinbou@mastodon.social)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 00:37:35 JST Nazo @luckytran Based on how the world handled COVID-19, I think if anything even worse comes out that may just be it for humanity. Of all the stupidest possible reasons to go extinct, we apparently pick stupiding away. At least an asteroid could be argued to be technologically difficult to prevent, but all we have to do with disease is test, isolate, and take basic precautions around each other. That's literally it.

sheislaurence (sheislaurence@mastodon.green)'s status on Thursday, 28-Sep-2023 00:37:47 JST sheislaurence @luckytran it’s a losing battle. I am part of a patient program for#longcovid and no one wears masks, incl. In busy gym where rehab takes place, no masks on peak time public transport home. I feel like I am the alien, the insane one, like the science on #reinfection was never published.
