Nothing ever put me off dance clubs quite like going to a tech launch party DJ'd by MC Hammer in the late '00s where he just kept repeating "This ain't no parking lot" over and over again (because people were standing on the dance floor rather than dancing).

I mean, it was probably a shit gig for him too, but if the booze hadn't been free the whole night would have been a wash.
