Apparently paxlovid is about as effective against hospitalization now as the vaccine is against infection. Big "we have the tools" energy. None of them work very well. It's almost like forcing everyone to get infected multiple times a year was a bad move

It's simple math and genetics. More infections = more copies being made = more chances for mutations. Most mutations aren't advantageous, but it only requires one taking hold and spreading.
