   Twitter is like a top of the range Lamborghini but you’re trapped in the boot full of broken bottles and it’s being driven over a cliff by a madman.

   Mastodon is like sitting in the back of a dilapidated VW camper van, with knackered suspension, no air conditioning, but lots of nice passengers having a sing-song and there’s a dog called Mr. Snuffles.

     @phil_smith That's not an accurate description of my corner of the fediverse.

     Here there is no dog on the van, but there are a couple of cats, and somebody has added a cat run near the ceiling.

     Also, the heating is broken, but that's fine even in winter, because we're all knitting and sewing warm things.

     eXtwitter has no technical excellence. Not since they fired all(most) of the engineers, moderators, and lawyers. It is more like a Greyhound bus driven by a scab who lied on his job application and doesn't seem to know where to go or how to get there.

     The people trapped on board are trying to take the lowest cost route to a mass of people, because their employers tell them they have too, but they are being yelled at by crazy people and literal Nazis (metaphor & reality).

     What's so high tech about Twitter that Mastodon is dilapidated in comparison?

     Afaik Mastodon supports more features and better clients
