While I do agree wholeheartedly, I can't help thinking that to those in higher circles, "public servant" probably means "one of our servants whose task involves interacting with the, ugh, *public*".

I think the concept of calling public servants "public servants" is really good because it establishes the hierarchy where it should be. administrative workers hold a lot of power over people who come to them and need their help, and it's important to keep the administration at the service of their users rather than the other way around
